Abstract: the provision of Ivanovo region with agricultural products is analyzed and the directions of its increase with the help of innovative approaches to the organization of production are determined. Agri-food complex is the most important sector of the economy of Ivanovo region, the development of industries has a decisive impact on the quality of life of the population, food security and socio-economic situation. This region has great opportunities for the development of agricultural production and processing industries of agriculture, which, ultimately, can meet the needs of the population in basic food.
The analysis of production of the main groups of agricultural products and balance of food supply of inhabitants of area is carried out. On the basis of analytical studies of the state of the problem, a set of factors allowing to determine the most important directions of formation of a rational food balance of the region and a promising agricultural policy is revealed. It closely intertwines the most important issues of food, economic, national security, self-sufficiency in food for their own use. The purpose of this study was the issues of food security of Ivanovo region, its state, problems and prospects. The study was conducted on the territory of th Ivanovo region on the basis of an analytical study of the state of agricultural production and the balance of food supply of residents of the region, as well as the prospects of self-sufficiency of residents of the region with natural food of domestic production.
The relevance of this problem is determined by the prevalence of products containing genetically modified organisms, the safety of which is highly questionable. It should also be noted that with the development of interstate trade, food products began to be used as a means of political pressure of some countries on others. In the modern world, the problem of a growing population is identified, in such conditions, food products become a strategic resource. The purpose of the study: to identify the main problems of food security of Ivanovo region.
