In the article the main economic development indicators of Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous okrug \u2013 Ugra and its place among other subjects of the Russian Federation are provided. It is noted that commodity-dependent economics of Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous okrug \u2013 Ugra results in significant disparities in the development of regional transport and logistics system, impeding regional economic development. The current state of transport system of Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous okrug \u2013 Ugra is analyzed. Major issues and trends of regional transport and logistics system development are considered, which are supposed to be addressed in a systematic way, on the base of a regional strategy. The influence of implementation of the Socio-economic development strategy of Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous okrug \u2013 Ugra on the regional economics development is revealed.
