Abstract: the research of the separate aspects connected with conceptualization of a concept social inequality is given in the article. The relevance of an underwritten subject consists in indisputability of the fact that social inequality, and its consequences, are one of the central problems of modern society owing to its total and systematic complication. Special attention is paid to the theoretical analysis of the perception of social inequality. In the course of the study, the problem posed to us, a secondary analysis of many sources was used, with the main emphasis on the most famous researchers in this field. In the study of social inequality, it was found that it is based on a close relationship with such categories as “social mobility”, as well as the openness of society. Such consideration will enrich the theoretical studies of this phenomenon, as well as use in practice in the preparation of methodological material.
