Abstract: this paper contains important information about sales promotion in the modern economy. The article discusses a number of reasons why manufacturers resort to incentive methods. At the present stage, doing business is closely linked to a high level of competition. The main goals of organizations at all stages are to increase sales of goods, attract new ones and retain regular customers. For this, enterprises use such a mechanism as sales promotion. Sales promotion can be expressed in several forms: price and natural, promotion through events. The purpose of this article is to uncover the essence of sales promotion. This article discusses some of the methods necessary to gain consumer attention and the successful promotion of goods on the market. The work also analyzes what means buyers use to attract customers. They primarily affect the psychological component of a person. Variegated advertising, bright colors in the interiors of stores, consultants, discounts, all this affects the buyer and, fearing to miss the benefit, acquires a product, sometimes not even necessary for him.
