Abstract: venture investment has an important position in the transition of the Russian economy to an innovative type of development and increasing its competitiveness in the global market. Venture funds are a source of financial support for innovative enterprises from the idea and business plan to their entry into the securities market. All phases of the life cycle of venture investment are associated with a high degree of risk, therefore, careful selection and analysis of innovative projects for investment is necessary. Assessing the principal feasibility of an innovative project and improving the quality of decisions regarding financing is one of the objectives of the examination. Using this tool, you can evaluate the scientific and technical level, the economic efficiency of the project, find out the volume of demand for the manufactured product. The study presented in the article is devoted to the most relevant, in our opinion, problems of venture investment in terms of the examination of innovative projects. The development of an examination tool in the framework of venture investment can become one of the effective methods of enhancing innovation, which will further enhance the competitive advantages of the Russian economy.
