Abstract: one of the strategic challenges and current direction of development for the Russian Federation is the movement of the economy along an innovative path, which is dictated by the introduction of the trends of the fourth industrial revolution and the transition to a new socio-economic development. The formation of a new model of financial and economic growth will ensure sustainable growth of the country and increase its competitiveness in the world market. Innovation as a specific phenomenon that can increase the share of high-tech enterprises and, as a result, contribute to the acceleration of the country’s economic growth is an actual direction of development of the Russian economy. The mechanism of venture investment is similar to the format of crowdfunding and crowdinvesting: the investor acquires a share in the capital of the enterprise that receives investment and implements the project, which contributes to its development and, as a result, increases the value of the enterprise. After a certain time, the investor has the right to sell his share back at a higher market value. The article considers the specifics of applying and regulating venture financing in the Russian Federation, identifies problems and forms author’s proposals to improve the availability of attracting financial resources for start-up innovative enterprises through the venture financing mechanism.
