Abstract: introduction: the article considers the importance of family values for modern young people of the Primorye territory, studies the attitude of young people to family and marriage. The author reveals the depth of penetration of destructive tendencies in the sphere of marriage and family into the system of values of modern youth of Primorye. The alleged motives for creating a family in the future are established, and the expected number of children is found out. The urgency of the problem is the need to study the specifics of negative trends in the sphere of marriage and family. The modern scientific community needs to understand whether the institution of marriage and the system of family values is being destroyed in Russia, or whether these phenomena are accidental, caused by external social factors. The marriage and family situation is worsened by the outflow of young people from the Primorsky krai, especially women of fertile age, which makes us worry about the demographic future of the region.
Methods. Various methods were used to study the problem. With the help of system analysis, family values of modern students are considered in the system of General trends in the evolution of the family. Factor analysis allowed considering the supposed motives for creating a family in the future, finding out the expected number of children and the attitude of respondents to stimulating the birth rate by material means. The method of observation made it possible to catch the mood of young people in the mood for marriage, family and childhood. The classification method allowed ranking family values that are significant for young people in order from the most significant to the least significant. Using the questionnaire method, primary material was collected to study the intentions of young people in the future to create their own family and have children.
Results. Young people of Primorye are ready to create their own family if they have a stable income, work, and housing. Unfortunately, these components in the Primorsky krai are not comfortable for young families. We can recognize that the region has an unfavorable environment for creating a young family. Existing social programs cannot to correct the negative situation.
