Abstract: the questions of efficiency of development of polymeric composite materials (CM) in industry are considered. The composition, structure, technical and economic characteristics and the main technologies of production of products from CM are presented. The main advantages of CM products over products made of traditional structural materials are substantiated. A brief historical review of the stages of creation and improvement of polymer composite materials is presented. The results of the feasibility study of the effectiveness of the introduction of CM in production on the example of JSC “Mogilev car building plant”, the main characteristics of the equipment for the manufacture of railway tanks made of fiberglass at the enterprise are given.
