POSTMODERNISM IN SOCIOLOGY: METHODOLOGICAL ASPECT

Abstract: the article is devoted to the development of history in sociology of the postmodern society concept. In fact, the theory of postmodernism covers all humanities, such as literature, criticism, art, philosophy, ethics, education, sociology, anthropology, science and culture, economics, politics and architecture.

Postmodern ideas are reflected in everyday life, in all humanitarian and technical spheres within the community, which many researchers associate postmodernism with current intellectual and philosophical shifts against other changes in social, economic and political spheres, in cultural and psychological planes. Despite the high frequency of using the terms “postmodern”, “postmodernism” and “postmodern society” in sociology, a uniform universal methodology for studying postmodern society has not been formed yet. Most theoretically developed models do not reveal the internal mechanisms of the functioning of a new type of society. External factors in the formation of postmodern society are often viewed as synonymous concepts and its elements. This approach does not allow predicting the development of postmodern society in its social structure and social relations. Due to the lack of a unified methodological approach, as well as in the absence of a clearly developed conceptual and categorical apparatus in the field of studying postmodern society, most of the studies are concentrated on any one aspect of a new type of society. There is a need for a systematic approach to the postmodern society study in identifying the factors of its formation, the factors influencing its development, internal structure, and sociocultural characteristics so that it is possible to predict the development of social processes of a new type of society.
