CURRENT TRENDS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE FUEL AND ENERGY COMPLEX OF THE EUROPEAN UNION AND ITS IMPACT ON THE WORLD MARKET OF ENERGY RESOURCES

Abstract: the current state and development of traditional energy sources significantly depends on measures to mitigate the effects of greenhouse gas emissions, which are the determining factor in the development of the world market of energy resources. Leading EU countries are implementing various local, state and regional programs to limit greenhouse gas emissions, which, among other things, reflect the need to switch from polluting energy sources (e.g. coal, oil, atomic and nuclear energy) to energy sources with limited emissions into the atmosphere (natural gas, shale gas, RES). The development and consumption of renewable energy sources began with policy steps, now becoming an international concept focused on the affordable provision of clean energy resources.

In addition to the General policy of the EU in the field of renewable energy, great importance is given to the national policy of the EU countries, each of which developed its own way of development, different from the ways of development of the rest of the countries on several indicators: implementation time, volume, target direction. This is due both to the need to improve energy security and to the task of preventing global climate change by reducing carbon emissions into the atmosphere. The above predetermines the need to analyze the development of the fuel and energy complex of the leading countries of the European Union, focused on the global introduction of renewable energy sources and its impact on the world market of energy resources.
