GLOBALIZATION: SLOW DOWN OR REVERSE

Abstract: a crisis of confidence in the two main pillars of modern society – the leading state (USA) and the ideological trend (neoliberalism) – is noted by many researchers and analysts both in Russia and abroad. After the global economic crisis of 2008, more and more there is an awareness of the current situation of uncertainty and instability at all levels of social structure. Fear of the unknown becomes an economic and political category, and the end of the old world order and its economic model in the face of “American” globalism is no longer recognized as ordinary speculation. The same thing happens with old values, which until recently were presented as universal, and at the moment they are met with an increasingly fierce rejection of countries outside the “golden billion”.

This article discusses the main aspects of the history and the subsequent collapse of the process of world economic and political globalization, integration and unification, the importance of protectionist measures introduced by the USA and China for the leading countries of the world, the prospects of introducing trade barriers and restrictions for the modern era of globalization, world trade, international politics and economy.

Keywords: globalization, localization, world economy, international trade, protectionism, customs policy, trade barriers and tariff restrictions, foreign investment, regulatory standards, trade and hybrid wars
