Methodology. Using the sociological method of analysis of documents and observation, various aspects and incentives of motivation of people of 3rd age in the educational sphere are revealed. At present, however, there is a problem in our country where only a small proportion of people of 3rd age can adapt to the new economic conditions. The main task for professional labour associations, most of which today have different forms of ownership, is to find more effective ways to manage the activities of enterprises, which will be able to look at and stimulate the driving force of people of the 3rd age. Among the various areas of social adaptation of older persons, special attention is given to issues related to ensuring and maintaining their active abilities in professional and social activities.
