Abstract: research in the Russian Arctic is of a strategic nature in the context of world globalization. At the moment, Arctic research is mainly focused on the technical and raw materials side of Arctic development. However, human resources and the potential of the population are a key factor for the development of any region. The article attempts to compare the value attitude of students of Arctic universities to the Arctic. The purpose of this study is to identify the commitment of students of Arctic universities to the Arctic, to determine the role of the Arctic in their value system. The comparative results of the sociological survey of students of the North-Eastern Federal University (Yakutsk), Northern (Arctic) Federal University (Arkhangelsk) and Murmansk Arctic State University (Murmansk) conducted in 2017-2019 are analyzed. Recommendations have been developed that can be used in the programs of socio-economic development of the Arctic territories, as well as in the educational process of universities in training specialists to work in the AZ of the Russian Federation for their further consolidation in the Arctic territory.
