Abstract: what should management be like when evaluating a company in terms of the stage of its life cycle? Despite a significant number of research papers on the life cycle of companies, few researchers have offered practical recommendations for managers on effective management at the stages of the life cycle. The most famous work of I. Adizes on this topic. He identified four roles as a manager and developed his own approach and methodology for managing the company. This article deals with the problem of the management function in the enterprise at the stages of the life cycle. The purpose of the article is a comprehensive study of the stages and functions of management in relation to the stages of the company’s life cycle. The goal was to solve the following tasks: to study the work of management researchers, life cycle and understand how they are universal and applicable at the present time, to offer their own view on the specifics of management at the stages of the company’s life.
