SOCIETY’S ATTITUDE TO THE IMPOSITION OF THE DEATH PENALTY IN RUSSIA AS A FACTOR OF SOCIAL STABILITY

Abstract: the article analyzes the social problems that arise in connection with the negative differences in Russian society in relation to the imposition of the death penalty.

The object of the study is punishment as a reaction of society to the commission of a crime.

The subject of the study is the attitude of society to the imposition of the death penalty in Russia, which affects social stability.

The purpose of the study is to consider briefly the social problems that arise in connection with the negative attitude of society to the imposition of the death penalty in Russia. The objectives of the research are to examine the problem of the general negative attitude of society to the imposition of the death penalty in Russia; to identify the characteristic features of the influence of society’s attitude to the imposition of the death penalty in Russia on social stability.

The article reveals the social problems that arise as a result of the negative attitude of society to the imposition of the death penalty in Russia; the direction of the influence of society’s attitude to the imposition of the death penalty in Russia on social stability is revealed.

At the time, the process of actually abolishing the death penalty as a capital punishment in Russia began, despite the lack of prerequisites for this in society. At present, society as a whole also has a rather complex attitude to the actual abolition of the death penalty as a capital punishment in Russia, which ultimately increases social tensions. The conclusion is made about the special socio-political significance of the society’s attitude to these measures of the state, and a number of recommendations are given for creating a system of appropriate work.
