Abstract: at the present stage, without a developed system of transport infrastructure, free movement of goods flows, services and investments cannot be carried out. This is of particular importance in the framework of accelerating economic development. The article analyzes the main aspects of using the logistics potential of the region. The competitive advantages of the region are considered, such as, for example, the presence of a powerful scientific and technical potential, high density of railways, etc., through which the main directions of development are realized. The emphasis is placed on the fact that the demand for services of customs and logistics terminals is increasing, as participants in foreign economic activity and distributors seek to reduce the cost of transit of goods, taking advantage of the location of the region in terms of logistics. The activity of customs and logistics terminals as possible points of economic growth of the Kaluga region is analyzed. It is noted that having certain competitive advantages in the aspect of developing transit potential, further improvement of the activities of customs and logistics terminals is necessary in the region. The prospects for the development of TLT and customs authorities in the region are determined. It is concluded that the regions should strive to provide the highest quality transport services and that the successful integration of regions into the implementation of national infrastructure projects should lead to the elimination of infrastructure barriers in the framework of international relations. The criteria for evaluating the effects of the development of the transport and logistics system are justified.
