Abstract: sociology is one of the youngest social sciences recognized by the scientific community. According to scientists, the sociology of management allows to identify exactly those mechanisms that can be used to get the desired result. The article reveals the history of the emergence and development of sociology as a science. The first information about this science appeared in the 13th century. The study examined the work and influence on the development of sociology of such philosophers as T. Hobbes, D. Locke, E. Kant and Voltaire, F. Engels, K. Marx and others. Also, a comparison of two scientific schools and their bright representatives, differing in views on the subject and scope of sociology: formal and synthetic. In addition, the work considers the division of sociology into species, according to the teachings of Durkheim and K. Mannheim. In conclusion, the author identified four main points in relation to the sociology of management. Firstly, sociology analyzes various social groups, associations and institutions that arise as a result of the social relations of individuals, and also identifies the mechanisms of these interactions within the framework of management sociology. Secondly, it is necessary to study the connections between different parts of society. Thirdly, sociology refers to factors that contribute to social stability and social change. And, fourthly, the sociology of management should predict a trend in the structure and the consequences of changes in society through the use of various mechanisms.
