QUALITY AND SAFETY OF FOOD PRODUCTS IN MODERN SOCIO-ECONOMIC CONDITIONS: PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS

Abstract: the objectives of the study are to study the current situation and trends related to the quality and safety of food products in the Russian Federation, to search for the causes of inconsistencies, related problems and consequences, both for the state and for business entities. The article considers regulatory requirements, reveals the scope, dynamics and main causes of inadequate quality of food products in the Russian market. For various stakeholders, the most important areas of ensuring the quality and safety of food products that are characteristic of the current level of macro and microeconomic development of Russia were  identified. Recommendations are given on solving the identified problems at the level of managing, regulating and controlling state bodies, at the level of the producer, as well as with respect to current trends in social responsibility of business and the active citizenship of the consumer.
