SOCIETY’S ATTITUDE TO THE SENTENCING SYSTEM IN RUSSIA AS A FACTOR OF STABILITY OF THE SOCIAL SYSTEM

Abstract: the article analyzes the social problems that arise in connection with the negative attitude of society to state measures aimed at mitigating criminal penalties for committing a crime.

The object of the study is punishment as a reaction of society to the commission of a crime.

The subject of the study is the attitude of society to the system of sentencing in Russia, which characterizes the overall attitude to the internal policy of the state and affects social stability.

The purpose of the research is a brief analysis of the social problems that arise in connection with the negative attitude of society to state measures aimed at reducing the criminal penalty for committing a crime. Objectives of the study are to examine the issue of negative attitudes towards policies to mitigate criminal punishment for the offence; identifying the characteristic features of the influence of society’s attitude to state action to mitigate criminal punishment for committing a crime on social stability.

The article identifies social problems that arise as a consequence of negative attitudes towards policies to mitigate criminal punishment for the offence; identifying the characteristic features of the influence of society’s attitude to state action to mitigate criminal punishment for committing a crime on social stability.

There are certain factors that are characteristic for modern Russian society, which provide a specified relationship. As a result of the influence of these factors, society negatively perceives the state’s measures to mitigate criminal penalties for committing a crime, which ultimately increases social tension. A conclusion is made about the special socio-political significance of changing the attitude of society to these measures of the state, and a number of recommendations are given for creating a system of appropriate work.
