CHARACTERISTICS OF UNEMPLOYMENT IN COUNTRIES WITH DIRREFENT LEVEL OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Abstract: the article analyses characteristics of unemployment in countries with different level of economic development, evaluates the state of the labour market of young professionals as well as considers factors that cause imbalance on the labour market.

It is highlighted that manifestations of unemployment in both developed and developing countries have a number of distinctive features. Drawing on the experience of developed and developing countries, the authors have consistently examined these particular characteristics, identified the key factors affecting the occurrence of a population employment problem. Besides, the article focuses on the specificity of various types and forms of manifestation of unemployment, considers the influence of the informal sector while analysing employment problems.

The authors have separately actualised the problem of youth unemployment which is one of the pressing issues in the modern world.

The article ends with the analysis of labour market problems in the post-Soviet space and emphasizes the peculiarities of manifestation of unemployment in Russia.

The research is based on Rosstat, Eurostat, OECD and the World Bank data. The authors conclude that nowadays unemployment is an acute problem that is typical for not only developing countries but also developed ones.
